How to Survive His Bachelor Party

Thanks to the television and the movies, brides have become increasingly leery of their man’s big bachelor party.  Brides all have these visions of strippers and wild, crazy, drunken parties that have just gotten a bit too out of control – or very out of control.  But is that really how it is?

Different Types of Bachelor Parties

Not all bachelor parties involve naked women, cigars, and a whole lot of alcohol.  A lot of guys are opting for fun outdoor trips that may involve snowboarding or fishing, and they all play pranks on one another (and no, no other women are involved).  Some are choosing other options, like going to the casino to gamble. Do not immediately assume that your man is hitting up the strip cub.

Communicate

Make sure that you let him know that you are uncomfortable with the idea of him doing certain things at his bachelor party.  After all, all brides have heard the horror story about how that one guy decided to get a bit “too wild” at his bachelor party, which screwed up his chance of getting married to his bride.

It’s not fair to nag him, but it is fair to say, “thinking about you having a stripper dance for you makes me very unhappy and uncomfortable”.  Do not forbid it; this will only make him feel all the more compelled to do it.  Your loved one wants you to be happy and he doesn’t want to feel guilty about doing something that you don’t like, so he will feel more obligated to shoot down any stripping activities if you express your feelings rather than ban an activity.

Let him Party

Here’s another note on the whole “do not ban your man” from doing what he wants topic: let him have his party.  It’s not fair to ban this event which has become a much looked forward to event in a man’s (and woman’s) life.  After all, if your husband-to-be banned you from having a bachelorette party, what would you say? Chances are, most of us ladies would scoff, laugh, and have it anyways.  Trust your guy and let him have some fun before your big day together.

Now you have yours too!

Rather than become immersed in what your man may potentially doing for his bachelor party, it’s time to start focusing on your own and plan our own bachelorette party details!  With the help of your maid of honor and bridesmaids, start thinking about how you want your party to pan out.  Let your partner know that what ever rules he has are just as applicable to you, so you are allowed to do just what he does.  You should also therefore be banned from doing what ever it is that he isn’t allowed to do too.  Agree on the rules, shake hands, and make sure you two have a load of fun!  After all, this is a once in a life time event!
